GREENVILLE, SC, USA – The Greenwood County Community Foundation has selected The Period Project (TPP) to receive their Youth and Education grant. This is TPP’s second year receiving this grant. The $2,500 award was presented to Karen Dudley-Culbreath, Executive Director, on April 30, 2024.
TPP is excited to continue the work to impact Period Poverty in Greenwood County. The grant funds will be leveraged to serve over 800 individuals through donations of menstrual health products (pads, tampons, etc.). TPP will continue their focused partnerships throughout Greenwood County with GLEAMNS Head Start centers, all Greenwood school districts, Boys and Girls Club of the Lakelands, Foodbank of Greenwood County, domestic violence support locations, free clinics, and those serving our unsheltered populations.
“We are thankful for GCCF, this grant will help to expand our reach and awareness of Period Poverty in Greenwood. Helping those who lack the resources for menstrual health products remain in school, at work, and engaged in other life activities.”, said Dudley- Culbreath
TPP’s mission is to eradicate period poverty and reinforce the dignity of those impacted by inequality. They champion efforts in advocating for equal, affordable access to menstrual health products for all. Since 2015, they have distributed over 12 million products to the communities they serve.
