What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global movement dedicated toward bringing radical generosity to every corner of the earth. It was created in 2012 with a simple premise: to encourage people to do good. Now, it's a world-wide program that brings together hundreds of millions of people every year to to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.
Why Giving Tuesday Matters to Us
At The Period Project, we’re improving the lives of menstruators one period at a time. By increasing local, national, and global awareness of period poverty and delivering menstrual hygiene products to those in need, we’re replacing poverty with community and shame with dignity. Giving Tuesday helps us meet our goals of facilitating better access to menstrual hygiene products to individuals in need, advocating for equal and tax-free access to these essential products, and raising awareness of period poverty by leveraging voices around the country.
